Hargeisa (04/25/2024): Today, a meeting was held between Mr. Said Mohamed Ahmed, President of Gollis University (GU), and Dr. Bashir Abdullahi Mohamud, President of Jigjiga University (JJU). The purpose of the meeting was to enhance cooperation between the two universities in their respective areas and to introduce new academic initiatives aimed at promoting economic and cultural development in Somaliland and the Somali region of Ethiopia.

Furthermore, the two presidents agreed to collaborate on joint research, training, and educational programs to develop expertise in climate and natural resource management.

As a result, they decided to establish sub-committees from both universities to ensure the smooth implementation of collaborative efforts.

During their meeting, the two presidents emphasized the pivotal role of universities in Somaliland and Ethiopia in driving economic development in both countries.
